Wade Istchenko

Wade Istchenko was first elected to the Yukon Legislative Assembly in the general election for the 33rd Legislative Assembly on October 11, 2011. He was re-elected in the general election for the 34th Legislative Assembly on November 7, 2016, and to the 35th Legislative Assembly on April 12, 2021.

He currently serves as critic for Environment and Rural Services.

On November 30, 2016 it was announced that Mr. Istchenko would be the Yukon Party caucus critic for the Department of Environment, the Department of Economic Development, the Yukon Liquor Corporation (including the Yukon Lottery Commission), the Yukon Energy Corporation and the Yukon Development Corporation. On July 6, 2020 the Yukon Party announced that Mr. Istchenko would be from that point critic for Tourism and Economic Recovery, the Yukon Liquor Corporation, Yukon Lottery Commission, and Environment.

Mr. Istchenko formerly served as a member of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts. Mr. Istchenko was appointed to the committee by order of the House on January 12, 2017.

Mr. Istchenko was sworn in as a member of the Executive Council (Cabinet) on November 5, 2011 and served as Minister of Highways and Public Works and Minister of Environment during the 33rd Legislative Assembly.

During the 33rd Legislative Assembly Mr. Istchenko was appointed to the Standing Committee on Statutory Instruments.
